Winnipeg, The Rink

Brad Rice, Tyler Rice, Tina Jones and Mike Keane, Principals of The Rink, are proud to welcome and announce the appointment of Mr. Carey Wilson as Head of Hockey Development at The Rink.

Carey Wilson comes with impeccable playing and training credentials. His playing experience includes 10 years with the Calgary Flames, Hartford Whalers, and New York Rangers from 1984-1994. Before turning pro, Carey won the Gold Medal with Canada at the World Junior Hockey Championships in 1982 and played for Team Canada at the 1984 Winter Olympics under head coach Dave King. His performance record includes 552 regular season games, 169 goals, 258 assists and 427 points.

His training experience includes the design, development and execution of high intensity player development programs that focus on proper technique in context of fundamental and advanced hockey strategies and tactics at all levels of hockey.

To make a difference in a team, I start by paying particular attention to the specific developmental needs of each player – helping them find the right balance between sports and education because great teams are composed of great individuals bound by a common vision, and who complement each other – practically and a mentally. — Carey Wilson

Carey will head up our team of talented professionals who have created and are delivering the most effective hockey training programs for each stage of a player’s development.

"A true Training Centre.”

Carey Wilson
sees and supports
our vision of providing fully integrated on and off ice professionally run programs all under one roof.  A true “Training Centre”.

— Brad Rice

"All programs at The Rink incorporate three things."

On-ice skills training, Off-ice conditioning, Goalie/shooting training. It’s the combination of these three disciplines in conjunction with The Rink facility that makes it all possible. It is our experienced team of hockey professionals that make it work. It’s Carey’s addition that will help everyone who trains at The Rink become the best they can be.
— Tyler Rice
